This Mortlach is an 18 year old Speyside single malt from Murray McDavid's Mission Gold series, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2026 at 54.3% in a 70cl bottle. It matured first in an ex-bourbon hogshead, then spent its last four years in a Pedro Ximénez barrique from Bodegas Ximénez-Spínola. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The release comprises 244 bottles. The nose combines baked apple and dried apricots with a waxy note. The palate is dense and malty, with soft toffee and peach. In the finish come brioche and syrup waffles, alongside a buttery spiciness.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
