This is a Mortlach single malt distilled in 1970 and bottled in 2002 by Gordon & MacPhail under its White Label, after 32 years maturing in sherry casks. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. Mortlach was the first distillery in Dufftown to receive a licence, in 1823. Its spirit is distilled 2.81 times rather than twice, which gives a comparatively heavy, meaty character and earned the distillery the nickname the Beast of Dufftown.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
