This is a 1988 Mortlach from Speyside, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice range at 53.8% ABV. It comes in a wooden box.
The whisky matured in American hogshead casks and has a dark gold colour.
The nose offers red apple and honeycomb, with hints of watermelon and a touch of grapefruit. On the palate there is lemon and pear alongside meringue, with lime and black pepper in the background. The finish is medium to long, with citrus and spice.
