This Mortlach was distilled in 1989 and matured for 35 years in a second-fill sherry butt. It was bottled in 2025 at 44.2% from a single cask, yielding 250 bottles of 70cl.
La Maison du Whisky, an independent French bottler, filled it for Artist #15, titled "The Dark Side of the Moon", in its Artist series. The whisky is not chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose is intense, with dried fruit, chocolate and spices over gentle oak. The palate is full and complex, with caramel, marzipan and fine nutty notes alongside a touch of cinnamon. The finish is long and warming, as dark chocolate and sweet spices fade together.
