First-fill Oloroso sherry butt
This is a 32 year old Mortlach bottled by Signatory Vintage for its own 35th anniversary. The whisky was distilled on 14 May 1991, matured in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt and bottled on 4 October 2023 at 54.1%. The butt yielded 580 bottles of 70cl. Mortlach is the oldest legal distillery in Dufftown, Banffshire, founded in 1823 by James Findlater, Donald Mackintosh and Alexander Gordon. William Grant, later founder of Glenfiddich, is counted among its best-known apprentices. Its water comes from springs in the Conval Hills.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
