A 23 year old Speyside single malt from Mortlach, distilled in 1997. Wilson & Morgan bottled it in 2020 for their Barrel Selection series at cask strength, 56% ABV, in an outturn of 632 bottles.
It matured in a refill hogshead and a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt. The finish of more than seven years in the Oloroso butt shapes a dry sherry character.
Expect dark nuts, spicy cask notes, ripe fruit and malty depth in a dense, meaty structure.
