Mortlach – 2008 SV 11 Years (10 Joohr Hauptstross 100) (70cl, 56.3%)

A single cask Mortlach from Speyside, bottled for the 10 Joohr Hauptstross 100 anniversary. It was distilled on 13 March 2008 and bottled on 16 January 2020 after more than 11 years in a bourbon barrel, giving 240 bottles at a cask strength of 56.3%. It has no added colour and was not chill-filtered. Mortlach is known for a distillation of 2.81 times, which gives a fuller, meatier spirit. The nose shows clear vanilla with fresh fruit, lemon and papaya. The palate is full-bodied, with lemon, pear, pineapple and some spice. The finish is long, with a touch of vanilla and white pepper.
