This Mortlach is a ten-year-old Speyside single malt from Signatory Vintage, part of its 100 Proof series, in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2026 at 57.1% ABV, the strength used for every bottling in that series.
The whisky was finished in a first-fill Pedro Ximenez sherry butt, and it is a limited release.
The nose is rich and aromatic, with berries, raisins, dried fruit and leather. The palate starts with force, bringing honey, dried fruit, nuts, mixed spices and a bittersweet note, in keeping with the distillery's nickname, the Beast of Dufftown. The finish is of medium length, with the sherry influence clearly present.
