This is a 10 year old Mortlach from Speyside, distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2026 by Signatory Vintage as number 84 in its 100 Proof Edition. It was finished in first fill Pedro Ximénez sherry butts and bottled at 57.1%, the strength that corresponds to 100 proof. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings ripe plums, dark berries, figs and raisins, with caramel and a little cocoa. The palate is full and strong, with honey, dried fruit, toasted nuts, dark chocolate, cinnamon and pepper. The long finish carries caramel, dark cocoa and gentle sherry sweetness, with dry spice, oak and dark fruit.
