This is a 25-year-old Mortlach single malt from Speyside, released in 2014 in a 50cl handmade crystal decanter at 43.4% ABV. Mortlach is known as The Beast of Dufftown.
The whisky was matured in refill American oak and is described as rich, meaty and deep, with a firm structure.
The nose brings honey, dried apricots, oak and soft spices. On the palate come toffee, vanilla, old oak and a little leather. The finish is long and warm, with the meaty note typical of Mortlach.
