Mortlach 26 Year Old is a single malt from the Diageo Special Releases of 2019, bottled at 53.3%. It was distilled in 1992 and matured for 26 years in first-fill oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
It is a strongly sherried malt. The nose is usually described as dark fruits, prune juice, sloes in gin, old oak and soft leather, moving to toffee, chocolate-covered coffee beans and Christmas pudding. The palate is smooth and viscous, with damson, liquorice, dried spice and cloves over drying tannins. The finish is very long and warming.
