A 33-year-old Mortlach from Speyside, distilled on 16 November 1988 and bottled on 25 November 2021 by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice series. It matured in a refill American hogshead, and the single cask gave 213 bottles at a natural cask strength of 53.8%, in a 70cl bottle. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose has ripe red apple, clementine and honeycomb, with demerara sugar sweetness giving way to watermelon and a hint of grapefruit. On the palate come lemonade and poached pear, then meringue, key lime pie and light black pepper. The finish is medium in length, with citrus and gentle spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
