This is a 9 year old single malt from Mortlach, matured in an ex-sherry butt and bottled by Simply Whisky at 48.8% abv in a 70cl bottle.
It was distilled on 1 June 2013 and bottled on 28 April 2023, with an outturn of 389 bottles.
The nose brings toffee, lemon zest, Montmorency cherries and leather, with strawberry and blackberry jam. The palate is fruity, over rich treacle, sultanas and coconut. The finish begins with hot espresso and dark chocolate, savoury and slightly drying, with tobacco leaf, and later turns to crème caramel.
