Mossburn Aged 12 Years Dupont Calvados Finish Blended Malt Whisky (70cl, 57.2%)

Mossburn 12 Year Old is a blended malt made from single malts of four Speyside distilleries, bottled at 57.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The malts were aged for 12 years in refill American oak hogsheads. They were then married and re-aged in French oak barrels that had previously held Dupont Calvados and Pommeau, both typical of Normandy. The blender chose the malts for their spicy floral character and nuttiness, to sit alongside the baked apple and oaky spice from the Calvados casks. The whisky is described with notes of red apple, ginger and nut brittle, and a gentle spicy finish.
