This is a Craigellachie distilled in 1970 and matured for 33 years, bottled by Murray McDavid at 40.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is one of 110 bottles. It comes from Mission, the company's prestige range, which was launched in 2002 and released across five batch selections until 2006. Murray McDavid is known for coining the term ACE-ing, short for additional cask enhancement, to describe its cask finishing. Craigellachie's spirit is known for being famously sulphuric, and for most of the 20th century its malt went mainly into blends, so independent bottlings like this one were an early way to try it as a single malt.
