Murray McDavid Glen Garioch 14 Year Old Benchmark (51.6%)

This is a Highland single malt from Glen Garioch, bottled by Murray McDavid as part of its Benchmark series. It was distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2025 at 51.6% ABV, without chill filtration and with its natural colour. The bottling is made up of 913 bottles. The whisky first matured for more than ten years in three refill bourbon hogsheads. It then spent its final years in three first fill Ximénez-Spínola PX sherry barriques. The nose shows creamy mocha, soft spices, fresh malt and a slightly oily note. The palate brings stone fruit such as apricot and peach, honey and fruity caramel. The finish is warm and long, with ginger, buttery shortbread and milk chocolate.
