This is a 33 year old Campbeltown single malt from Glen Scotia, bottled by Murray McDavid. It was distilled in 1991 and first filled into an American oak ex-bourbon hogshead, where it spent its first two decades. In 2011 it was moved into a French Vosne-Romanée red wine barrique from Burgundy. The nose combines baked plum and tamarind spice with cherries, dark chocolate and a faint hint of freshly cut cigar. On the palate, herbaceous wild berries lead to juicy raisins and salted caramel. The finish brings ripe berries, nutmeg, brown sugar and dried stone fruits.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
