Myken – Arctic Single Malt Ocean Heart 6 Year Old Bourbon Casks (70cl, 47%)

Ocean Heart is the first core single malt from the Myken distillery in Norway. It was aged for six years and two months and is bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Two thirds of the barley was Norwegian, from a harvest first available in 2019. The whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks, and part of it was given a further 6 to 12 months in smaller sherry and bourbon casks. The nose offers vanilla, citrus and fresh fruit with a light sea-salt breeze. On the palate, creamy caramel meets a touch of salt and a subtle pepperiness, leading to a long, peppery finish.
