Myken Sea Mist Arctic Island Single Malt 4 Year Old Bourbon & Pineau Casks (70cl, 47%)

Sea Mist is the peated single malt in the core range of Myken Distillery, an Arctic island distillery in Norway, and this bottling is 4 years and 11 months old. It is made from a mix of peated and unpeated barley, bottled at 47% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring. Most of the whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks of American oak. A smaller share came from casks that held Pineau des Charentes, adding sweetness and roundness. The nose offers moderate smoke, vanilla, citrus and fresh fruit. The palate brings creamy caramel, a touch of salt and fruit with oak spice, and the long, peppery finish keeps smoke and sweetness in balance.
