Nakanaka Pretty is a barley shochu, known in Japan as mugi shochu, made by Kuroki Honten on the island of Kyushu. It comes in a 75cl bottle. It is made from barley with koji and the water of Kyushu Island. Kuroki Honten has been producing shochu since 1885 and follows a farm-to-bottle approach, beginning with cultivating its own land. Nakanaka is the house's barley expression, alongside Kiroku, made from sweet potato, and Yamasemi, made from rice. Barley is one of the three classical shochu styles, and gives a lighter, cleaner spirit with a slightly nutty character.
