Nc'nean Cask Strength Organic Single Malt is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky at 59%, in a 700ml bottle made from recycled glass. It comes from the Nc'nean distillery at Drimnin on the Morvern peninsula.
The spirit is distilled from organic Scottish barley, with long mash times and fermentations of 65 to 120 hours. The vatting combines 55% shaved, toasted and re-charred red wine casks, 43% ex-American whiskey casks and 2% Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose offers lemon peel, raw honey, ripe pear and baking spices. The palate brings lemon zest, apricot, peach and strawberry, then clove and toffee. The finish is long and oily, with stone fruit and gentle salinity.
