NC'NEAN – Huntress Orchard Cobbler 2024 Organic Single Malt (70cl, 48.5%)

This is the third release in NC'NEAN's experimental Huntress series, an organic Highland single malt bottled at 48.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is inspired by the Gaelic goddess Neachneohain, and 6,100 bottles were filled. The spirit is made only once a year, when the distillers switch between two distillation recipes. That changeover brings out unusually high levels of fruity compounds. The whisky was matured in 66% STR ex-red wine casks, 31% ex-American whiskey casks and 3% Oloroso sherry casks, and is bottled without colouring. The tasting notes run to Cherry Bakewell, apricot jam, vanilla custard and peppermint tea, and the fruit-dessert character gives the Orchard Cobbler its name.
