NC'Nean Organic Batch 01 is the first release from the NC'Nean distillery in the Highlands, founded by Annabel Thomas. It is a single malt made from organic Scottish barley and matured in STR (shaved, toasted, recharred) casks and ex-bourbon casks.
It is bottled at 46% in a 50cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with natural colour, a light golden shade.
The nose has citrus, green apple and pear, with caramel sweets, vanilla and a touch of fresh pastry. The palate is creamy, with peach and apricot, butterscotch, vanilla and a little ginger spice. The finish is medium in length, with lingering fruit, gentle spice and a hint of oak.
