A 17 year old pure malt from Nikka, made from malt whiskies from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. It is named after Nikka's founder, Masataka Taketsuru, who travelled to Scotland in 1918 to learn the art of whisky making and later set about developing Japan's first genuine whisky. The expression was created in honour of him. Its components matured for 17 years in various sherry casks, and the malt comes only from individual single malt casks. The aroma is of dried fruit, leather and tobacco. The palate is mainly spicy and fruity, with vanilla and caramel in support.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
