This is a Japanese blend of Yoichi and Miyagikyo whiskies, bottled at 43% in a 76cl bottle. Nikka launched it in the 1980s as a tribute to Masataka Taketsuru, its founder, and discontinued it in the 1990s. It comes in a glass and silver metal decanter with its original hang tag.
The nose is warm, with apple, orange and plum alongside hints of wood and smoke. Citrus, sugar, herbs and wood make up a well-balanced palate, and the finish is sweet with lingering smoke.
