Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt 12 Year Old (70cl, 43%)

This is a 12 year old blended malt Japanese whisky from Nikka, bottled at 43% in a 700ml bottle. Taketsuru takes its name from Masataka Taketsuru, who founded the company in 1934 after studying whisky making in Scotland. The blend uses the differing natural environments at the distillery, along with steam heat distillation. The aroma has aged casks, sweet vanilla and gentle peat. The taste is soft, deepened by a tangy, sweet fruitiness.
