Nikka – Whisky 34 Years Old 1998

Nikka 34 Years Old is a Japanese whisky matured for 34 years and bottled in 1998, released in an edition of a thousand bottles. The flavours run to dried fruit, toffee, mature oak, subtle smoke and leather, with hints of incense and gentle spice. The nose is rich and layered, with dried fig, polished mahogany, old leather and gentle sherry warmth. The palate is velvety, with prune, cocoa, black cherry, spice box and roasted chestnut. The finish is very long, with oak tannin, dark fruit and a balanced bittersweet end.
