Nikka Yoichi 20 Year Old is a single malt from the Yoichi Distillery, bottled at cask strength. The distillery is known for full-bodied, peaty whiskies, and this twenty-year-old follows that style. Around 800 bottles were produced.
The nose brings cedar wood, cigar boxes and aged leather, with earthy smoke, dried mushrooms and dark forest fruits behind. On the palate come savoury tobacco, roasted nuts, deep peat and bittersweet dark chocolate, leading to a long, smoky finish of dry oak, spice and lingering incense.
