This is an independently bottled Aberfeldy, distilled in 2014 and matured for 7 years in an Oloroso sherry hogshead. North Star Spirits bottled it in June 2022 as Cask Series 019, at a cask strength of 57.8% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. Only 297 bottles were filled.
The Oloroso cask adds chocolate, dried fruit and sherry warmth to Aberfeldy's honeyed Highland character.
The nose is fizzy and sweet, with rubbery notes and malt beneath. The palate brings warm, creamy chocolate and malt sweetness in a rounded texture. The finish is fresh and persistent, with chocolate and sherry-cask character.
