This is Oban 10 Year Old in its 2024 Special Release, bottled at cask strength. The whisky was matured in refill American oak and freshly charred Oloroso casks.
The nose is soft, with sea breeze and sea salt giving way to vanilla and oak, alongside gentle sherried fruit, lemon and a little smoke. The palate is rich and oily, opening with orange and lemon before creamy vanilla, sea salt and a touch of spicy oak. The finish is of medium length and ends in warm spice.
