An 11 year old Oban single malt matured in ex-Caribbean pot still rum casks and bottled at a natural cask strength of 58% ABV. The rum wood adds tropical fruit and spice to Oban's rich, oily character.
The nose is sea breeze, citrus and tropical fruit with dry spice, along with grapefruit peel, ground pepper and a hint of dairy toffee. On the palate come mango, papaya and lychee, then salted caramel, lemon bonbons and rich toffee, with a texture that turns more oily when water is added. The finish is spicy and long-lasting.
