Oban 11 Year Old Special Release 2023 is a West Highlands single malt finished in Caribbean pot still rum casks. It was created by Malt Master Dr Stuart Morrison and is bottled at 58% in a 70cl bottle. The edition is called The Soul of Calypso.
Chocolate and dried mango open the nose, followed by gingerbread, spiced apple chutney, sea breeze and citrus. Vanilla, orange and cinnamon lead the palate, with a touch of tropical fruit and subtle sea salt. The finish is spiced, with caramel, apple and aniseed.
