A 12 year old Oban single malt, released as part of the 2021 Special Release. Oban is one of Scotland's smaller and older distilleries, working in the coastal town of the same name since 1794 and set 208 paces from the sea.
Its rich, citrus Highland character is strengthened by sea brine and a whisper of island peat. The whisky is bright gold with a medium body.
The nose is maritime, with seaweed, salt, black pepper and a hint of lightly smoked white fish. The palate is soft and fruity with light citrus and a gentle spiciness from freshly charred casks, and the finish is fairly long and peppery.
