This is Oban 12 Year Old 'Heart of the Harbour', part of the 2025 Diageo Special Releases. Oban was founded in 1794 by the Stevenson brothers, in the port town of the same name, and runs just two pot stills.
The whisky was matured for at least 12 years in ex-bourbon casks and is bottled at 54.7% ABV. It has a pale gold colour.
The nose brings sea salt, fresh brine and dried seaweed, with green apple, pear, citrus zest, vanilla and honey. The palate is malty and sweet with baked apple, toffee and a little wood spice. The finish is long and dry, with a hint of pepper.
