Oban 14 Year Old is a Western Highlands single malt in a 2000s bottling, matured in bourbon and sherry casks and bottled at 43% ABV. It has a coastal character with a light touch of peat.
The nose brings toffee, sticky pudding, caramelised pineapple, lychee, orange zest and a little smoke, with cinnamon, nutmeg and sea salt. On the palate are buttercream, tinned fruit, honey, almond and vanilla, with sea salt, quince and ginger and a touch of oak tannin. The finish is long, with apple cider, lemon curd and brioche, fading to soft smoky dryness and coastal brine.
