Oban 14 Year Old is a single malt from the Oban distillery in the western Highlands of Scotland, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It spends 14 years maturing in oak casks.
It is described as sitting between Speyside and Islay in style, smoky and robust yet with a silky, fruity side.
The nose combines spicy oak, drifting peat smoke, dark berry sweetness, a little sea salt and malt. The palate is silky, with sea salt, light sweetness and malty peat smoke. The finish is long and slightly spicy from oak, with clear smoke, turning drier.
