Oban 21 Year Old is a cask strength single malt at 57.9%, issued by Diageo as a limited release in 2018. It was distilled at Oban in 1996, matured in European oak casks and bottled in 2018.
The nose is maritime, warm and dry, with menthol, fruit cake, brown sugar and lemon. The palate is intense and powerful with a creamy texture, sweet with a little salt, bringing toasted coconut, spearmint and menthol, and sweet hazelnuts and nougat behind. The finish is warming, with menthol and smoke ending on ash and ginger.
