Octomore 14.2 is a peated Islay single malt. Chief distiller Adam Hannett chose casks that once held Oloroso sherry from Spain and Amarone from Italy, from more than 200 cask types in the warehouses.
The spirit from these casks was then blended in French oak casks. The Oloroso adds sweetness and a hazelnut character, while the Amarone casks bring rich red fruit notes. Octomore's peat smoke sits alongside the robust, savoury influence of the wood.
