Old Forester – 1910 Old Fine Whisky Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky (75cl, 46.5%)

Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle at 46.5% ABV. It is the fourth and final limited edition in the Whiskey Row series, which began in 2014. It recalls a fire on the bottling line on 22 October 1910, when mature whisky waiting to be bottled was held in a second barrel instead. This version is matured a second time, entering the second barrel at a low 100 proof so that more of the sweet wood sugars dissolve into the whiskey. Tasting notes mention buttercream, sticky toffee, cedar and apricot on the nose, then oatmeal raisin cookie, milk chocolate and caramel corn on the palate, with a clean finish led by charred oak.
