Old Forester – Single Barrel Rye Barrel Strength (75cl)

This is a single barrel Kentucky straight rye whisky from Old Forester, bottled at barrel strength and left unfiltered. The 750ml bottle comes from one barrel, so the exact proof varies from one barrel to the next. It is described as combining sweetness, fruit, spice and herbal character, with each barrel showing its own small variations. The nose is creamy vanilla, lemon custard, caramel and dark brown sugar. On the palate come full-bodied layers of ripe orchard fruit, cinnamon stick, dried dill and toasted hazelnut. The finish is long and spice-led, with black pepper, green anise and crisp mint.
