Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2014 is a 12-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle, released on 2 September 2014. The Birthday Bourbon is issued each year on the birthday of Old Forester's founder, George Garvin Brown.
Each edition is a small-batch selection of 12-year-old barrels chosen by the master distiller, and every year differs in proof and barrel selection. It was made by Old Forester Distilling Co. in Louisville, Kentucky.
The colour is a deep amber. Tasting notes describe caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, dried cherry and gentle cinnamon on the nose. The palate brings toffee, dark fruit and baking spice, and the finish is long and dry, with barrel char, vanilla and spice.
