Old Forester Birthday Bourbon 2020 is a 12 year old Kentucky straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle, released on 2 September 2020, the birthday of the founder, George Garvin Brown.
Each year's edition is a small batch of 12-year-old barrels chosen by the master distiller, and the barrel mix and proof change from one release to the next.
The nose is white flowers, magnolia and citrus, then vanilla, buttery leather and cocoa. The palate opens with caramel and brittle toffee before banana, mango, coconut flakes and macadamia nut. The finish is long and gently drying, with a hint of anise.
