A Kentucky straight rye whiskey from Old Overholt in a 75cl bottle. It returns to Abraham Overholt's original mashbill of 80% rye and 20% malted barley, which gives the Monongahela Mash name on the label.
On the nose are rye grain, golden raisins and honey, with fresh baked bread and cinnamon apples. The palate is led by brown butter, with white pepper, clove, graham cracker and peanut brittle. The finish carries baking spices, leather and a touch of blackberry, followed by oak and a gentle build of heat.
