Old Particular Macduff 12 Years Old is a single malt from Macduff, on the coast of the East Highlands, bottled by Douglas Laing at 61.5% ABV.
It comes from a single second-fill hogshead, so there is little heavy wood influence and the malt character of the spirit stays in front. The whisky is non-chill-filtered.
The nose offers fruit sweets and summer straw, then soft malt honey and fresh citrus. On the palate it is full and chewy, with caramel, brown sugar, baked spice and cereal grain. The finish is long, ending on malty sweetness and light vanilla.
