Old Potrero – 6 Year Old Straight Rye Whiskey (75cl, 48.5%)

This is a six-year-old straight rye whiskey from Old Potrero, in a 75cl-style 750ml bottle at 48.5% ABV. It was matured in new, handmade, fine-grain American oak barrels that have been charred. The barrel maker heats the staves over a fire of oak chips so they can be bent into shape, and letting the heat continue chars the inside of the barrel. Barrels charred in this way give the rye a rich colour and a distinct character.
