Old Pulteney – 17 Year Old (70cl)

This is a 17 year old Highland single malt from Old Pulteney, in a 70cl bottle. The distillery stands in Wick and was founded in 1826 by James Henderson. The whisky is made up of 90% refill bourbon casks, with the remainder from Oloroso sherry casks. It was named Best Highland 13 to 20 year at the World Whiskies Awards in 2012. The nose is butterscotch, honey and chocolate, and the palate shows faint salt and oak spice.
