Old Pulteney Coastal Series Port Cask is a limited edition Highland single malt from the distillery at Wick, on the north-east coast of Scotland. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle and carries no age statement.
The whisky is first matured in second-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks, then moved into Ruby Port pipes and Ruby Port barriques from Portugal's Douro Valley.
The nose offers sultanas, candied orange, buttery vanilla, marzipan and gingerbread spice. On the palate come baked apple, cinnamon, vanilla custard and warming spice, with coastal brine cutting through.
