Old Pulteney – Huddart (70cl)

Old Pulteney Huddart is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle, inspired by Old Pulteney 1989. It matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and was finished in ex-peated malt casks, giving a smoky take on 'The Maritime Malt'. The name comes from the distillery's address on Huddart Street, and from Captain Joseph Huddart, who supplied maps and charts to the British Fisheries Society, builders of Pulteney town and its harbour. The nose is rich and warming, with wood smoke, oily leather, honey, green apple, vanilla and a touch of burnt toffee. On the palate, vanilla spice balances smoke and peat, with salted caramel and sea salt leading into a rich finish.
