Huddart is a Old Pulteney single malt from the distillery in Wick, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It has a warming, soft and smoky character, with salty sea air and peat smoke behind it, and a rich golden colour.
It matures only in American oak, first in second-fill ex-bourbon casks and then in casks that previously held peated whisky. These give it a light smokiness.
The palate opens with mild wood smoke, honey and oily leather, then turns to crisp green apple, with creamy vanilla and a hint of burnt toffee in the background.
