Old Pulteney – Huddart (70cl, 46%)

Old Pulteney Huddart is a Highland single malt from the Wick distillery, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It takes its name from Huddart Street, where the distillery stands. The whisky is matured in hand-selected ex-bourbon casks and then finished in ex-peated malt casks, which adds a gentle smoke to the maritime style of the house. Green apple, honey and vanilla lead the nose, with a soft breath of wood smoke. On the palate come ripe banana, creamy caramel and a distinct salt-water note. The finish is long and dry, with thyme, malt and an earthy undertone.
